At eBay Research Labs we aspire towards big bold ideas that will change the world and make a huge difference in people’s lives. Our work also has a real impact on eBay’s day to day business, resulting from joint ventures between eRL and eBay product groups.

Commerce is at an amazing inflection point and with its 100M users and 400M active listings, eBay is a fertile ground for research and innovation. This makes it a particularly exciting time to be a part of eRL.

Founded in 1995, eBay connects a diverse and passionate community of individual buyers and sellers, as well as small businesses. Their collective impact on eCommerce is staggering: In 2012, the total value of goods sold on eBay was $67 billion.
