Nitin Indurkhya

Principal Research Scientist

Nitin joined eBay Research Labs in October 2010. He has published four best-selling books and dozens of influential papers. He also holds several patents. Prior to joining eBay, Nitin worked in companies such as AT&T Bell Labs, Hitachi, and Telstra before founding Data-Miner Pty Ltd, an Australian company engaged in data mining, text mining, language technologies consulting and education. The company developed and markets several data-mining and text-mining toolkits including the Enterprise Data-Miner toolkit which was the first data-mining software to gain the 100% pure Java certification.

He continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and also serves on the faculty at Statistics.com where he teaches online courses in text mining and natural language processing. Nitin got his PhD from Rutgers University, has been a faculty member at University of Sydney, and has been a visiting professor in a variety of universities and research institutions in Australia, Brasil, India, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, USA and, most recently, Vietnam.
