Qiaosong Wang joined the New Product Development team at eBay Inc. as a Research Scientist in April 2016. His research interests are in computer vision, including object recognition and detection, 3D scene processing and reconstruction, and robotics. He is doing some interesting work in computer vision to turn research efforts into consumer level products.
He has worked on various computer vision projects with Microsoft Research, Siemens Sorian Lab and eBay Research Labs. He enrolled in research programs provided by Microsoft Research and received excellence awards in both 2008 and 2010. His fire-fighting robot project is reported by the Nov 4, 2010 issue of the New York Times. He participated in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Robotics Challenge trial (with Drexel University) and final (with UNLV) in 2013 and 2015, respectively and the team places 8th among 23 teams competing in the finals. His work on stereo vision based mobile imaging has received the Best Student Paper Award from the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) in 2014.
